The course is phenomenal
I applied to be part of the course with no knowledge of Hypnotherapy, I was naive to the content and truly believed it was going to be all practical. After the first class session, I was amazed at how much was involved with the academic side, but then to actually practice on a fellow student, putting them into trance, was fantastic.
For me the academic forecast was daunting, but with the full support of Betty George and Paul, I managed to write good essays and surprisingly my marks were alongside, if not better, than other professionals within my group. I was just a working class mum/grandmother looking for a profession that stands me out from the crowd and to take along my future path.
Betty was always attentive, eager and so forward with her knowledge at every class session. Betty’s ability to capture my curiosity, helping me to nurture the information has been outstanding. There was jokes and giggles, honesty and frankness, I always felt important. We were a team.
I never felt there was any rudeness or disapproving language. The classes were always welcoming, warm and jolly.
In my opinion, the course is phenomenal, the tutors were so enthusiastic and willing you on, all the time. We all became friends, being supportive to one another.
Betty is a wonderful, caring, knowledgeable person. I am privileged to know her and to have as a future colleague and friend.
Superb Knowledge of the Hypnotherapy Industry
I have enjoyed my year of learning with Betty. I liked her authoritative but friendly approach to teaching. She kept us engaged and highly informed by bringing to life the syllabus with her superb knowledge of the hypnotherapy industry. Our learning greatly benefited from Betty including additional up-to-date learning’s from the industry, providing additional case studies from her professional experience and those of esteemed practitioners and showing us compelling demonstrations in class. Her enthusiasm and desire for us to work to high standards has no doubt helped us all towards a successful qualification.
Experienced, Calm and Knowledgeable Teacher
Betty is an excellent teacher. Her teaching is very insightful and full of her own experience. Having such an experienced, calm and knowledgeable teacher has enabled me to feel comfortable and confident in a subject that I really knew nothing about. She has opened many doors for the future and I would recommend her teachings to anyone.
My Tutor Very Helpful
I have found my tutor very helpful. The tutorial sessions that I had were very informative and I have learnt a great deal from them. They have directed me towards the right direction and I am very happy that I had the chance to have them as my hypnotherapy tutor.
"Betty is an inspirational tutor and a motivational force. She challenged me and taught me to challenge myself, but in a way that never felt like I wasnt being supported at the same time. If ever I am with a client and thinking, what should I do now, out of all my tutors it is still Betty's guidance that I mentally refer back to. I would recommend a class with Betty to any student or practitioner"
Betty - thanks so much for brilliant supervision which has helped massively with the work I have done with my clients this week! The guy I spoke to you about regarding anxietes and dental phobia went brilliantly today! Its even brought his blood pressure down and helped him have a great nights sleep! I did rewind and timeline topped up with a swish and he has left a very happy man!
I appreciate the time you gave and the ideas that always are the rights ones!
Course has been a joy
I was unsure about undertaking the course in clinical hypnotherapy until I met with Betty George. Betty was warm, friendly and addressed each of my concerns. After our meeting, I felt confident and reassured sufficiently to sign up for the course.
Every weekend on the course has been a joy. Betty has given me so much confidence. I am a changed person and will be forever grateful. Betty never rushes her students and makes sure that everyone is ready and understands before moving on to the next module.
The quality of Betty's training is nothing short of excellent and her confidence, support and sharing of knowledge made it a safe, comfortable learning experience. She demonstrated techniques personally and supported me whilst practising a technique that I wasn't comfortable with. It is now one of my favourite techniques thanks to Betty encouraging me and giving me the confidence to try.
I have emerged from the training having shared a wonderful journey with Betty, the facilitation team and my fellow students. I consider myself a capable and confident hypnotherapist and would recommend Betty George's course to everyone.
Experiential Style of Learning
Betty is an extraordinary teacher! She brings a wealth of truth and experience in to the class. The demonstrations and experiential style of learning taught us experience in the classroom.
I did not believe I would have the confidence to go out and practice but Betty taught us all from day one that we are Hypnotherapists. She promised us that we would have the knowledge and skill to practice with confidence and this has proved to be true.
I recommend BSAP
When I reflect on my time training with BSAP three things stick out above all.
Firstly the course content is extensive. BSAP don’t just give you basic hypnotherapy skills, they go above and beyond to deliver essential and advanced tools, which other courses do not offer. The inclusion of basic counselling skills has been invaluable in my practise, also the hypnotherapy techniques of Parts and Regression, usually only found in advanced courses, have led me to deliver a wide range of very effective tools to my clients. BSAP also includes a module on launching your hypnotherapy practise, which includes marketing skills I have used to great effect that generated instant business.
Secondly, I found BSAP had a strong emphasis on the classroom environment. Strengths, weaknesses, pupil experiences, phraseology and many more aspects that came into the classroom was professionally and pastorally utilized to aid the learning process and facilitate a safe learning environment. The skill with how the working environment was utilized in this way, often with humour, underpins and made evident the decades of professional experienced the tutor team posses.
Thirdly, the doors are always open. After graduation the journey just begins, BSAP truly gives you the tools you need to be confident in being a hypnotherapist, launching your practise and the doors are always open to provide continued support and opportunities to BSAP graduates.
If you’re thinking of becoming a hypnotherapist I recommend BSAP. If you do train with BSAP I would advise you to immerse yourself and apply yourself as the amount of learning you can achieve with BSAP is an upper limit I haven't found.
Facilitating trance in L & witnessing her abreaction. And then Betty showing me how to deal with it.
Thank you again for the encouragement, motivating style, unpredictability and reassurance.
BSAP met its obligations
I found my BSAP course exciting, stimulating and challenging, nothing less than I would expect from a diploma level course.
In order to experience real learning in a new field of study I expected to be working at my learning edge and was not disappointed. Researching, writing, practicing the new skills learned and receiving feedback inevitably takes me out of my comfort zone and that’s what makes the learning worthwhile to me. I felt supported and always knew that the responsibility for learning and making progress was my own.
I felt that BSAP is absolutely met its obligations. Since successfully completing my Diploma course I have established a successful practice.
Counselling skills and the power of silence
What resonated with me was the counselling skills and the power of silence.
Betty kept our attention
It was lovely to meet you, Betty and the team over the weekend. I thought everyone coped really well, especially in the heat. I just wanted to say a really big thank you for all your hard work (rather behind the scenes) but wow what a great roll you are playing in doing all the admin and giving us all that information and course work.
I was also so very impressed with Betty and felt she kept all of our attention for most of the day. Her sense of humour is terrific which helped us all as a group to relax about it all. You are both so good at your jobs and although a little apprehensive about all the work, I am none the less looking forward to such an exciting learning experience that so far just seems really enjoyable.
I do apologise, I slightly lost the plot at the end of the day and became totally confused as to what we needed to fill in and on what forms. I was gaily getting it all signed on the one form! Shall I redo them all? Perhaps you can just clarify for me as to what goes on which sheet of paper. I'm sure it will be much easier next time but just want to get it right at the start and how many hours should be there in total. I'm also sorry I left before we had put all the chairs back which occurred to me only when I was driving home.
Anyway, all in all a great weekend. I really enjoyed it and look forward to seeing you on again on the 27th. Thank you again.
Incredible depth of knowledge
I just wanted to give you feedback regarding my Hypnotherapy Practice and the training I received with you through BSAP.
It is very clear to me that you have incredible depth of knowledge, passion and a strong desire to develop safe, confident and highly trained hypnotherapists. Your exceptionally high standards were quite apparent in your approach, content and your teaching of the practical skills. Your unique blend of professionalism, fun teaching style and your strong desire to develop outstanding hypnotherapist is clearly evident in all you do.
When I researched hypnotherapy courses, I did not want a course that spewed out certificates that weren’t earned. I wanted a course that would challenge me and equip me to work with clients; your course did just that. The BSAP course is demanding and certainly not for the faint-hearted it is a course designed for those who are truly serious about becoming a hypnotherapist. Yes, the coursework was intense, but shouldn’t it be when working with people’s minds!
You knew exactly the right time to appropriately push me outside of my comfort zone through reflective learning during check-in. Admittedly, I was initially shocked at being challenged, but realised that reflective learning and your constructive feedback, is an integral part of the process. What I have found since completing the class, is I frequently use this approach to evaluate my own performance with the clients. It enables me to adjust the treatment plan where necessary and it helps me to develop my skills further. Thank you for challenging both my abilities and thought process, it has helped me to become an even better hypnotherapist. There is always a reason why you teach what you do; as you often said “Trust the process”.
Thank you, Betty for your continued encouragement and belief in me. Not only have I earned a diploma in hypnotherapy, but on a personal level, my confidence has soared and continues to grow from the excellent training I received through BSAP. I will always highly recommend both you and your school.
Professional & friendly
I am impressed by how professional yet friendly the trainers are and how much learning has been achieved.
Helped Me Build Confidence in Myself
You have been a fabulous and an open minded tutor, you've helped me build confidence in myself through your teaching.
Understanding own feelings
The abreaction I experienced and the following relaxation was valuable to me. It brought me understanding of my own feelings, and helped my ongoing learning process.
Betty’s style of teaching enthused and motivated
I have known Betty since July 2013, first in the capacity of tutor for cohort 3 of the British School of Applied Psychology Clinical Hypnotherapy Course running from September 2013 to January 2014, and second as a valued friend and colleague.
When applying for the above mentioned course I had a number of issues that I wished to discuss with Betty before enrolling. Betty dealt with these issues confidently, in confidence and with empathy. I enrolled on the course without reservations. Throughout the course Betty monitored how I was managing and gave time to discuss any issues as they came up. I felt supported and at the same time empowered, achieving my diploma with distinction. I felt that I had gained not just a qualification but also personal growth and the confidence to start on my journey as a Clinical Hypnotherapist. I strongly feel that Betty’s style of teaching and facilitating has enthused and motivated me and continues to do so.
When I completed the course I jumped at the opportunity to join the tutoring team as a facilitator for cohort 4, from March to June 2014. I continue to be in touch with BSAP and with Betty through which peer support continues to be given.
